Polywumpus performs at two different venues - The Brick Playhouse in downtown Philadelphia and the Point Coffeehouse in Bryn Mawr, PA.

We also perform three different formats: Our classic Improv Comedy show, Polywumpus Survivor, and our newest format, Polywumpus King of the Hill.

If you're sitting there wondering, 'what the hey is this improv stuff, anyway?' then read on! Otherwise, read on anyway to learn more about our different shows and venues!

Show Formats

Polywumpus King of the Hill - Our newest format! A competetive format where 5 players challenge each other to games and other improv madness, all in hopes of being declared 'King of the Hill'! The challenges will include improv games that we have traditionally played, but there is also an all new 'challenge round' where players create their own challenges on the spot - it's more free form than ever, and it's unlike anything you've ever seen from Polywumpus before. The show debuts on Saturday, Feb 9, at the Brick Playhouse, and we will be bringing it to the Point on Sunday, February 24. Be sure to check it out!

Polywumpus Improv Comedy - The classic! Polywumpus performers take the stage with nothing prepared and create hilarious scenes and games on the spot, all based on audience suggestions. It's fast, fun, and all improvised!

Polywumpus Survivor - A riff on America's favorite reality show (isn't that a scary thought)! Seven Polywumpus members take the stage and play improv games that are selected at random. After each round, the audience grants 'immunity' to one team (or player), and one of the remaining players is eliminated from the show, until only one player remains as the 'sole survivor'. It's a show unlike any other! Because of scheduling conflicts and our King of the Hill debut, there will be no Survivor show in February, but look for it in the coming months!

Venues

The Brick Playhouse - Our Saturday performing spot. The Brick is a theater with an approximate capacity of 100 people. Located right on South Street (623 South Street), the Brick is convenient to restaurants, bars, coffeeshops, and public transportation. The Brick does not serve alcohol, but does sell concessions (soda, candy, etc.).
P.S. If you are coming to the Brick for the first time, the door is located right next to the door for Jambalaya, a cajun restaurant that has been closed for the past 6 months

The Point Coffeehouse - The swankest coffeehouse on the Main Line! The Point may be a coffeehouse, but it has a fantastic stage setup for performance. They also serve a full menu in addition to coffee. They don't serve alcohol, but they are BYOB (with a small charge). Our Point shows are Sunday nights, so come on by, grab some coffee or food, and relax with some comedy before the week begins. click here to find out more about the point.
